New Orleans is where I was born and raised. Stanton Moore is an ardent percussionist and performer who is deeply rooted in the city's culture and creative spirit. Driven and inspired by his hometown's booming music industry, which includes legends like as Professor Longhair, Doctor John, and The Meters, Moore's name is now referenced with these New Orleans stalwarts.
Moore was a member of the New Orleans-based essential funk band Galactic in the early 1990s. Their debut album, the critically acclaimed Coolin Off, released in 1996, sparked an aggressive tour schedule of approximately 200 shows per year for the following 10 years.
