Bing initially appeared in ESQUIRE Magazine in 1983, writing slanderous things about his colleagues and acquaintances, and offering strategic counsel to others even more perplexed than he was. Rather than risk being kicked out of his sour corporate environment, he invented a new name under which he could watch and critique the executive class while aspire to their lifestyle.
This technique has mostly succeeded, and Mr. Bing now snipes at the hand that feeds him while working as an ultra-high-level executive vice president at a massive international organization whose identity is one of the worst-kept secrets in business. Bing went to Fortune magazine in 1995, where he currently publishes under the subtly titled BING!?
