Stan Lathan is a well-known television comedy producer and director, having directed the pilot episodes of several comedies such as The Steve Harvey Show, The Soul Man Amen, Martin Moesha, and The Parkers. He also serves as the show's executive producer and frequent director.
Lathan collaborated with Russell Simmons in the 1990s to establish Def Comedy Jam on HBO as well as Russell Simmons Presents, for which they received a Peabody award. Lathan directed then-President Barack Obama's An Evening of Poetry, Music, and Spoken Word in the White House in 2009.
