A BIRMINGHAM-based technology start-up that has created unique software that works as eyes for the blind has received money from a corporate accelerator program. Vision Technologies has received a startup investment of $100,000 (�64000) from the WAYRA technology accelerator program, which is operated by Telef3nica, a Spanish internet and telecoms company. The investment is worth $1.3 million (�840000).
The company, which is creating a complex software package that drives smart glasses for the visually handicapped, plans to launch in late 2015. Give Vision.net, a runner-up in the 2014 Baldwins Accountants KickStart Young Entrepreneurs Awards, is nearing the end of the first round of user testing.
