A shooter stormed into the car and opened fire on the passengers, waking the youngsters up from their snooze. They sprung into action, charging, tackling, and subduing him. Spencer was cut multiple times throughout the brawl. Spencer Alek and Anthony have garnered worldwide acclaim for their activities. President Francois Hollande bestowed the Legion of Decoration France's highest honor onto them.
