Sonya Walger is swiftly establishing herself as a rising celebrity in Hollywood. She received a Saturn Award nomination for Best Supporting Actress on Television for her performance in The Librarian: Quest for the Spear in 2004. In 2001, she got the main role in HBO's critically praised drama The Mind of the Married Man, starring Mike Binder.
After working with Walger on the indie film The Search for John Gissing, which also starred Janeane Garofalo, Binder noticed her promise. Binder hired her in the HBO program knowing he had a star on his hands. However, the program only lasted two seasons before being discontinued after the 2002 season.
