Sofia Carson, a Disney Channel regular and singer with a dance-oriented pop style, comes from Florida. Carson was born Sofia Daccarett Char in Ft. Lauderdale, Florida in 1993, the daughter of Colombian immigrants.
She began taking dancing classes at the age of three and made her theatrical debut as Dorothy in a Miami theater rendition of The Wizard of Oz in 2001. The next year, she attended the University of Miami's summer theater program, where she studied dance and vocal performance. Carson continued her dancing and singing skills throughout high school.
