Stelios, who likes to be addressed by his first name, is 40 years old and is best known for founding easyJet PLC when he was 28. He is widely regarded as the pioneer who transformed the European aviation landscape to the advantage of millions of passengers.
Although easyJet PLC was partially listed on the London Stock Exchange in 2000, Stelios remains the sole stakeholder. Stelios, a serial entrepreneur, founded more than 17 businesses, the first of which was Stelmar Shipping at the age of 25. Stelios was knighted by Queen Elizabeth II in November 2006 for services to business.
