Silversun Pickups is an independent alternative rock band from Los Angeles, California, founded in 2002 and nominated for a Grammy Award. Brian Aubert (lead vocalist and guitarist), Nikki Monninger (vocals and bassist), Christopher Guanlao (drummer), and Joe Lester (keyboardist) make up the band. Dangerbird Records published their debut EP "Pikul" in 2005.
Pickle is a popular mispronunciation of the word, although the true pronunciation is pie-kull. So far, Pikul has sold over 55,000 copies. The band released their first full-length album, "Carnavas," on September 26, 2006.
