Shirley Frimpong-Manso is a Ghanaian film director writer and producer. Sparrow Productions, a film, television, and commercial production firm, is founded and run by her. She is regarded as someone who aims to improve the quality of cinema production in Ghana and Africa by expressing progressive African tales through the perspective of Africans.
At the 6th Africa Movie Academy Awards, she was named Best Director. Frimpong-Manso is also a founding member of Sparrow Station, a video streaming service for African entertainment produced by Sparrow and other African film producers. According to E.tv Ghana, she was voted the 48th most important person in Ghana in 2013.
