Ms. Sheyann Webb was born in Selma, Alabama on February 17, 1956. She was raised in the George Washington Carver Projects by an impoverished household of eight children. She is an advocate for justice, equality, and self-actualization. Ms. Webb is also noted for her work as a humanitarian, civil rights activist, mentor, and youth advocate.

She is best known as the co-author of Selma Lord Selma: Girlhood Memories of the Civil Rights Movement. In 2000, the NAACP Image Awards nominated her novel, which is now a Disney film, for Best Television Mini Series. The film recalls her early experiences with the late Dr.
