Shawn Klush Biography

Pittston, Pennsylvania, where I was born and raised, is a tiny coal-mining town. Shawn's passion for music inspired him to begin impersonating his musical idol, Elvis Presley. He played in the well-known Poconos region before embarking on a tour of Canada, where he competed in and won the $5000.00 award in the Worldwide Elvis Competition in Montreal. This piqued the interest of the award-winning Las Vegas show Legends in Concert, where he appeared as Elvis Presley for many years in their Myrtle Beach, Las Vegas, Branson, and Atlantic City show rooms. Every January, he performs in the Elvis Birthday Tribute Tour, a multi-city spectacular including Elvis' own band, singers, and friends. Shawn has five CDs to his credit. He has shared the stage with some of Elvis' closest musicians and vocalists, including JD Sumner and the Stamps Quartet. He played Elvis Presley in the CBS and VH1 smash TV miniseries Shake Rattle & Roll. Shawn won the $25000.00 World Elvis Tribute Artist Competition on Elvis' 70th birthday. He then earned the Peoples Choice Award for Best Concert Elvis from Gibson Guitar Co in Nashville. Shawn was later voted the World's Greatest Elvis by 6.5 million worldwide viewers on BBC1 in the United Kingdom. Finally, on the 30th anniversary of Elvis' death, on August 16th, Shawn was designated the First Ever Ultimate Elvis Tribute Artist by Elvis Presley Enterprises in Memphis, TN. Shawn has set records in the United States, Switzerland, Canada, Australia, the United Kingdom, and South America. He was chosen Elvis' Worldwide Ambassador at the Las Vegas Hilton, where he hosts the annual Las Vegas Elvis Fest, which honors Elvis' historic Las Vegas performances.
