Shane Bitney Crone has worked as a day camp counselor, an ice cream store chef, a sandwich artist, a retail assistant, and even a weed-remover during his life. He is now pleased to identify as an activist, speaker, writer, and filmmaker. He was born and raised in Kalispell, Montana, a conservative little town on Montana's famed Flathead Lake.
He was a very active part of his close-knit community from a young age, and he was once named Student of the Year for his leadership. Despite his efforts to blend in, he endured years of homophobic abuse and suffered from acute melancholy.
