He went undercover once more in 2016 to investigate America's revived conventional paramilitary development. Before starting his career, Shane focused on the Middle East, providing details from places like Iraq. Sudan, Syria, Chad, Yemen, Lebanon, Israel, and Palestine. His essays have appeared in several publications, including The Nation Salon, The Los Angeles Times, The San Francisco Chronicle, Christian Science Monitor, and many more.
