Currently, Imam Shamsi Ali serves as the imam of the Islamic Cultural Center of New York, the largest mosque in the area, located on 96th Road and Third Avenue in Manhattan. In addition, he oversees the Jamaica Muslim Center in Queens and serves as Chairman of the Al-Hikmah Mosque in Astoria.
The Tanenbaum Center and the Federation for Middle East Peace are two interfaith organizations where Imam Ali serves as an advisory board member. Additionally, he serves as the Asean Muslim Federation of North America's Chairman of the Board of Trustees.
