Shalene Gupta is a Minnesota-born, Boston-based journalist and author with Chinese-Indonesian and Indian heritage. She is a staff editor at Fast Company, covering Gen Z in the workplace, the psychology of money, and health business news. Gupta co-authored “The Power of Trust: How Companies Build It, Lose It, Regain It” (2021) with Harvard Business School professor Sandra Sucher, which was shortlisted for the Thinkers50 Breakthrough Idea Award. Her solo book, “The Cycle: Confronting the Pain of Periods and PMDD” (2024), blends memoir and research to explore premenstrual dysphoric disorder (PMDD) and menstrual stigma, advocating for workplace inclusivity. A former Fortune reporter and Harvard Business School research associate, her work has appeared in The Atlantic, ESPN, and Harvard Business Review.
