Between 1989 and 2011, Shahira Amin, an Egyptian television writer, worked for Egypt State TV. Since 2002, she has been a lone backer of CNN's Inside Africa. Amin has covered several important topics, including female genital mutilation, the plight of Sudanese exiles, Copt tyranny in Egypt, the Nile water issue, and the impact of Wahhabism on Egyptian culture and human expression.
