Seth Shostak is the Senior Astronomer and Director of the Center for SETI Research at the SETI Institute in Mountain View, California. He graduated from Princeton University with a bachelor's in physics, and the California Institute of Technology awarded him a doctorate in astronomy.
Seth has devoted much of his career to radio astronomy studies on galaxies and amassed about 60 publications in scholarly journals. He used the Westerbork Radio Synthesis Telescope while working at the Kapteyn Astronomical Institute in Groningen, Netherlands, for more than ten years. In addition, he established and oversaw a business that created computer animation for television.
