Chilean performer and chief scriptwriter Sebastian Silva. His 2009 picture The Maid, which was released, garnered his attention. Following a failed trip to Hollywood, Silva helped co-write the script for the film and later served as its director. It received several awards, including the Sundance Film Festival's Grand Jury Prize for World Cinema Dramatic.
It was also nominated for Best Foreign Language Film at the NAACP Awards and the Golden Globes. In addition, Silva wrote, directed, and produced the HBO TV parody, The Boring Life of Jacqueline, in 2012. Silva's film Crystal Fairy won him the Sundance Directing Award: World Cinema the following year.
