Sebastian Roché is a French-Scottish actor and writer who has played Mikael on The Vampire Diaries and The Originals (2011–15), Balthazar on Supernatural (2010–11), Kurt Mendel on Odyssey 5 (2002–03), Thomas Jerome Newton on Fringe (2009–10), and Jerry Jacks on General Hospital (2007–13).
In 2016 he will portray Cardinal Michel Marivaux in the HBO mini-series The Young Pope starring Jude Law and Diane Keaton.
