On November 9, 1981, Scottie Thompson was born and spent his formative years in Richmond, Virginia. She developed a love of performing and moving from a young age. She studied jazz and modern dance,, hit the floor with the Richmond Ballet, and began learning artistic dance.
She took up the role of Clara in Richmond Ballet's production of The Nutcracker in 1994. She took a year off after leaving Collegiate School in 2000 to join the Richmond Ballet's ballet company. When I started at three, I was fixated on it [ballet]. I breathed it in and lived it till I was about nineteen.
