Local Austin resident Scott Waddle graduated from the United States Naval Academy in 1981 with a Bachelor of Science degree in Chemistry. Upon graduation, he was commissioned as an Ensign.
He began a twenty-year career in the submarine force, serving on board the Trident Ballistic Missile pontoons of the Atlantic Fleet in Alabama and Kentucky and the rapid attacks of the Pacific Fleet in San Francisco and Greeneville.
