In the 1990s, Steiner was most recognized for his stints with World Championship Wrestling. He's also worked for Extreme Championship Wrestling and World Wrestling Entertainment, and he's now with Total Nonstop Action Wrestling. Steiner received a wrestling scholarship to the University of Michigan and graduated with a degree in education.
In his sophomore, junior, and senior years, Steiner was an All-American at the University of Michigan, finishing second in the Big Ten Conference. Steiner finished sixth in the 190-pound weight class in the 1986 National Collegiate Athletic Association championships in his senior year.
