Scott William Simpson is a professional golfer from the United States. Simpson was born in San Diego, California, and attended the University of Southern California, where he won the NCAA Championship two years in a row in 1976 and 1977. In 1977, he began his professional career and graduated in 1978.
He started playing on the PGA Tour in 1979 and won seven times between 1980 and 1998. Simpson's sole major championship, the 1987 U.S. Open at the Olympic Club in San Francisco, was the pinnacle of his career.
