Scott Rickard is a University College Dublin lecturer. His love of music and mathematics drove him to attempt to tackle a challenging arithmetic problem: a musical score with no pattern. He holds degrees from MIT in Mathematics, Computer Science, and Electrical Engineering, as well as MA and Ph.D. degrees from Princeton in Applied and Computational Mathematics.
He established the Complex & Adaptive Systems Laboratory at University College Dublin, where biologists, geologists, mathematicians, computer scientists, social scientists, and economists collaborate on challenges that affect people. He's also the creator of ScienceWithMe!, an online community committed to getting kids interested in science and math.
