Scott's ambition to pursue a career in professional speaking was sparked by chance to amuse and engage while serving as President of Salesmen with a Purpose (SWAP, now Sales Professional International) in 1985. His career as a professional speaker officially began in 1986 when he accepted the role of marketing director with Speech Masters.
This business teaches CEOs, attorneys, and experienced presenters to construct presentations. Scott has spent the last 25 years fusing improvisational humor, sharp wit, and exciting material to develop into the speaker he is today. Using the power of celebration and comedy, Scott's goal as a speaker and Chief Celebration Officer is to increase organizational performance and productivity.
Scott continues to have a significant domestic and international presence as a Certified Speaking Professional (as recognized by the NSA) and a dependable speaking community member. The NSA Cavett Award is given annually to a member whose efforts have demonstrated exceptional regard, service, honor, and appreciation in the Association and the speaking profession.
Scott is the 2013 recipient of this distinction. Meeting Professionals International (MPI) presented Scott with the 2013 Recognizing Industry Success and Excellence (RISE) Award. This celebrates those exceptional people who, by their innovative efforts and original thinking, have significantly improved the meetings and events industry (MPI).
He established the Meetings Industry Council of Colorado (MIC), a confederation of expert groups involved in the meetings industry, in 1988 while serving as president of the National Speakers Association of Colorado. He is honored to continue his association with MIC and its most recent event, which was held in March 2013 and included over 800 meeting industry leaders.
Scott received the 2002 Pace Setter Award from the International Association of Speaker Bureaus (IASB), which is granted yearly to a non-member who has made significant contributions to the speaking business in collaboration with the IASB.
The National Speakers Association and the IASB formed an agreement to "promote" collaboration between bureaus and speakers to improve the client connections that benefit both," the IASB acknowledged Scott for this achievement. Scott's idea brought the inaugural Global Speakers Conference to Singapore in April 2005, drawing 300 speakers worldwide and meeting planners from 20 different nations.
In the Global Speakers Summit events held in Dubai (2007), Cape Town (2009), Amsterdam (2011), and Vancouver, Canada, Scott has continued to be an active participant (2013). Nowadays, Scott spends 30% of his time giving speeches in Asia and other parts of the world.
Singapore Airlines, the Singapore Government, Gold Fields of South Africa, the Young President's Association, Hyatt Asia, HSBC, and several Fortune 1000 corporations are just a few of his worldwide clientele. He provides every one of his clients with a multicultural and global perspective on maximizing both business and life.
He has succeeded in various sectors, including meetings, real estate, insurance, healthcare, education, government, and almost every Association. Kick-offs, closing almost, and late-night munchies are ideal for Scott's specially designed programs. Participants will leave with skills to improve their careers, personal lives, and prospects, enabling them to begin celebrating and living happily ever after.
In addition to lecturing, Scott is heavily active in charitable endeavors. Scott was formed together. We Can Change The World (TWCCTW.org), an organization that helps underprivileged, neglected children and women and offers them safe, secure refuge and educational possibilities. TWCCTW works to create sustainability in children's homes throughout Southeast Asia.
Scott now plans international speaking engagements to raise money, spread awareness, and rejoice with the children in Thailand, Malaysia, Singapore, Indonesia, and Cambodia. He served on the national board of directors for Camp to Belong for five years and received the Volunteer of the Year award from Family Services of Colorado.
