NPR's political reporter is Scott Detrow. He co-hosts the NPR Politics Podcast and covers the 2020 presidential campaign. 2015 saw Detrow join NPR. He worked as a legislative journalist before returning to the battlefield and providing information on the 2016 presidential campaign. Before that, he worked as a statehouse reporter for affiliate stations WITF and KQED in Pennsylvania and California.
In 2013, his coverage of Pennsylvania's water-powered breaking boom received a DuPont-Columbia Silver Baton and a national Edward R. Murrow Award. He also secured the energy strategy for NPR's StateImpact project. At Fordham University's WFUV, Detrow began his career in open radio.
