He looked for mentors, professors, and friends who could assist him in achieving his objective. Scott met his future wife, Jenny, at this period, and she joined the show with a new and fresh viewpoint that would help them take their magic to the next level. Scott swore from that point on that he would not be frightened of collaboration and that he would not keep his ideas to himself, but would instead collaborate with individuals he trusted to produce a beautiful end product. He searched out the contact information for a booking agent in Las Vegas just after graduating from college. He dug deep inside himself, saw the ultimate goal, and took out his phone. Scott was pushed into the bright lights of Las Vegas with a one-month trial contract after the meeting went well. Instead of watching those performers on television, he was now one of them, fighting for jobs with them. These were individuals he had admired since he was a child, and now he was the culmination of their efforts. Scott felt as though he were a fish out of water. His performances were not what he had hoped for, and he struggled to keep up with the competition. He had the impression that he had set his sights too high. It only took a moment for him to recall the promise he had made to himself years before: “My name will be up in lights on that sign!” He understood he was there for a reason and that this was his one chance. He had to seize his bootstraps and pull himself up by his bootstraps to meet the challenge. Even though he was in over his head, he had to stay afloat, keep his cool, let go of his fear, and dive right in.
