Schelly Colvin Biography

She was born in Huntsville, Alabama, just south of Nashville, where her family resides despite everything. Shelly was raised on gospel music and country music, learning how to blend to songs like "Abilene" or "Old Rugged Cross" while hanging out in the house singing and playing guitar with her father, a Baptist minister of music, her mother, uncles, and grandma, who despite everything plays a sneaky fiddle every Saturday at the New Hope Community Center. While attending the University of Alabama, Shelly found and gave in to the Southern stone hints of Widespread Panic and The Allman Brothers. She became involved with the show office and expanded her musical horizons. After graduating, Shelly headed to Los Angeles with wild hair and glitter in her eye. There, she found work in several TV and movie productions (look for Shelly this Memorial Day in Spiderman 3) and became a member of an all-girl pop/rock band called "Season." While "Season" didn't reflect Shelly's rural upbringing and soon blurred, it allowed her to collaborate with successful creator Mike Post.
