About Scala And Kolacny Brothers

Scala And Kolacny Brothers Biography

In April 1996, Scala conducted their first rehearsal with 18 vocalists in the group, a talented stone wind group of Belgium young women. Scala's positions evolved as the young women won various awards, including the title of Belgium's Choir of the Year in 1999, and Steven and Stijn Kolacny, siblings who played the piano and served as the group's director and pianist, respectively, treated the group from the start like an old-style outfit. By the middle of the 2000s, the Kolacnys had become weary of traditional music. They had begun attending other schools for inspiration, which led to the creation of a spectacular collection centered on choral rock song reworkings. Scala began distributing supplies in 2002 with an arrangement that comprised more than 200 people. The group's initial release, On the Rocks, featured vintage covers of classic Nirvana, Garbage, and Radiohead songs. Further collections were released semi-annually, including a worldwide version of On the Rocks and a group of Steven Kolacny's works. As Scala's fame continued to grow, the gathering remained a cult until 2010, when the trailer for The Social Network featured a similar frequenting rendition of Radiohead's "Creep" that appeared in Scala's presentation. After a quarter of a year of its release, the trailer gained more than one million YouTube views, becoming a viral success. Before the movie's release, Scala, whose music was partially responsible for the clasp's popularity, began accepting brand offers. The group then signed a US deal with Atco Records. Creep and other spreads were included on the band's self-titled Atco debut, released in March 2011.
