At 26, Sarah Weddington, a Women’s rights speaker and attorney, successfully argued the landmark Supreme Court case, Roe v. Wade. She became the first woman from Austin ever to be elected into the Texas House of Representatives, and later served as an assistant to President Jimmy Carter.
