She founded the Laboratory for Global Observation at the University of Alabama in Birmingham. She is a TED Senior Fellow and a National Geographic Explorer. Her goal was to reveal the hidden history of the globe eventually. Her grandfather, an early airborne photography pioneer, energized Parcak.
