British filmmaker Sarah Gavron is well known for her works My Little Life (2007), Brick Lane (2015), and Suffragette (2003). Gavron is the daughter of Nicky Gavron, a member of the London Assembly and a former deputy mayor of London, and Robert Gavron Baron Gavron, a wealthy philanthropist and Labour Life Peer from the United Kingdom of Great Britain. Gavron attended Camden School for Girls for her education. She earned a BS in English from the University of York in 1992. and a master's degree in cinema studies from Edinburgh College of Art, back when it was a part of Heriot-Watt. After that, she spent three years working for the BBC. She later enrolled in the National Film and Television School in London to pursue a degree in feature film directing. Her half-brother Simon Gavron is the father of the actor Rafi Gavron.
