Sara Taylor is one of the few people that understand the canvassing process. Her expertise with polls led her to the executive director's position of the Michigan campaign, having spent 1999 and 2000 as coalitions director for President George W. Bush's Iowa caucus campaign and doing fieldwork in the South Carolina, Virginia, Washington, and Illinois primaries.
Taylor formerly worked as the deputy assistant to the president and director of political affairs at the White House for the Tarrance Group, a northern Virginia polling business. Taylor, as one of President Bush's senior political advisers, regularly backed up her White House colleagues on legislative, policy, and personnel issues.
