Pat O'Keefe's tenure on the Board of Trustees, which ends January 1, 2029, was filled by Sandy Pierce, who Governor Whitmer nominated in December 2022. Pierce joined Huntington in 2016 after FirstMerit merged with it, and he is the executive vice president of the Private Bank, Insurance Agency, Car, Marine, RV businesses, and Regional Banking.
In addition, Pierce served as the chairman and CEO of FirstMerit Michigan and vice chairman of FirstMerit Corporation. Pierce graduated from Wayne State University with a BA in Business Administration/Marketing and an MBA in Business Administration/Finance. She serves on American Axle & Manufacturing and Penske Automotive Group boards.
