Sandi Toksvig started her comedic career at Girton College in Cambridge, where she earned a first-class degree while writing and playing in the Cambridge Footlights' first all-woman production. She made her television debut as the host of the kid's program No. 73 (1982–1986), and she then hosted The Saturday Starship Motormouth and her show, Toksvig.
Since then, she has worked as a factual television host for shows including the six-part Sudan documentary series, Great Journeys, The Talking Show, and the Channel 4 archaeology series Time Team Island Race. In addition, she served as Call My Bluff's team leader for a long time. Whose Line Is It Anyway? is one of the additional panel programs.
