Sam Milby, a Filipino-American with dual citizenship in the United States and the Philippines, is a former reality TV participant, actor, commercial model, and music artist. Milby participated in several significant ice skating events, including the Junior Nationals. He and his four-year skating partner won silver and other prizes throughout his serious skating career. After that, Milby decided to take modeling and show business seriously. Before landing a central role in a Close-Up TV commercial with Barbie Almalbis, he received small parts in a few advertisements. Milby was not one of the initial 12 cast members of Pinoy Big Brother but joined after one of the participants left the house for personal reasons. The show included 12 men and women from all walks of life. Following this, he secured a deal with ABS-CBN and started working as an actor and recording artist. Close to You, a movie co-starring John Lloyd Cruz and Bea Alonzo made by ABS-CBN subsidiary Star Cinema was his first significant cinematic debut.
