Sahar Delijani began attending a middle school in the seventh grade. Delijani received admission to the University of California Berkeley in 2002, where she majored in comparative literature and graduated with a BA. She relocated to Turin, Italy, in 2006 after meeting her spouse. She has resided there since. For more than six years, Delijani has been writing.

Various literary magazines and periodicals, including The Battered Suitcase Tryst Slice Magazine, Prick of the Spindle Perigee Border Hopping Berkeley Poetry Review, and Sangam Review, have included her writing. In addition, Delijani was a frequent writer for Iran-Emrooz (Iran of Today) Political and Culture Magazine for a while, and she was nominated for the Pushcart Prize in 2010 and 2011.
