Pinkston, the son of Linda and Mark Pinkston, was born in Silver Spring, Maryland. He has some Greek ancestry. He participated in karate tournaments before becoming an actor, having been motivated by watching Mighty Morphin Power Rangers and Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles.
He was well-known in Europe and praised for his sports involvement and accomplishments by groups like Karate Kids Online, which former professional wrestler Louis Velazquez headed. Pinkston made his television debut on Star Search when she was twelve and then joined Ashton Kutcher's cast of Punk'd on MTV. He is unrelated to another Punk'd graduate, Rob Pinkston.
