Growing up in Glen Ellyn, Illinois, Ryan McPartlin went to Glenbard South High School. The University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign awarded McPartlin a degree in voice communication. McPartlin relocated to Southern California to further his acting career after spending six months in Australia and New Zealand. McPartlin worked as an Abercrombie & Fitch model for many years.
McPartlin's debut performance was as a Leonardo DiCaprio-like figure in a Titanic parody of The Nanny starring Fran Drescher. McPartlin is most known for playing Hank Bennett, who took Dalton James' place on the famous serial opera Passions from April 2001 to June 2004, and for his brief cameo as Ryan in the series L.A. 7.
