Stanford University awarded Dr. Russell Jeung a BA in human biology and an MA in education. He served in China and the San Francisco Mayor's Office before earning his Ph.D. in sociology from the University of California, Berkeley in 2000.
He moved to the Asian American Studies Department at San Francisco State University in 2002 after spending two years as an instructor at Foothill College. Family Sacrifices: The Worldviews and Ethics of Chinese Americans, Moving Movers: Student Activism and the Emergence of Asian American Studies, and many other works are written by Dr. Jeung.
