Keith Rupert Murdoch is an American media magnate who was born in Australia. Sir Keith Murdoch, his father, had worked for the Herald and Weekly Times newspaper publishing firm, covering all Australian states save New South Wales, as a reporter, editor, and senior executive.
Murdoch refused to join his late father's registered public business after his father's death in 1952, instead of forming his own private firm, News Limited. After the conglomerate split on June 28, 2013, Murdoch held complete control as Chairman and CEO of News Corporation, now the world's second-largest media conglomerate, and its successors, News Corp and 21st Century Fox.
