Since high school, he had planned to pursue a career in performing, but his home life prevented him from doing so. I felt pressure to take on the role of the family's primary provider because I am the only member of my family with a college degree, my grandparents are retired, and my mother gave birth to me when she was a little older. At the age of 47, he eventually left corporate work to go into the film industry. He continued to grow into producing despite not completely understanding what that role required. In the end, he would go on to produce movies like Gun Hill Road and Blue Caprice, but he would also keep appearing in roles.
