Dr Rod McLoughlin MB MRCGP DCH MSC FSEM (RCSI & RCPI) is contracted to the Olympic Council of Ireland. He graduated from UCD in 1984 and completed is General Practice training in 1991. He then completed a fulltime one year university course in Sport & Exercise Medicine at the London Hospital.
On returning to Ireland in 1991 Rod set up practice as as Sports & Exercise Medicine Physician at O'Neill's Sports Medicine now based at Dublin City University and UCD.Rod is Medical Officer to the Olympic Council of Ireland and he was subsequently appointed as Medical Director at the Irish Institute of Sport and combined both roles in the run up to Beijing in 2008.
