Robert Watson is a British atmospheric chemist and one of the world's leading environmental scientists. Specializing in ozone depletion, climate change, and biodiversity loss, he has shaped global policy over decades through his research and leadership.

Educated at Queen Mary University of London and the University of Reading, Watson began at NASA in 1977, advancing ozone studies that informed the 1987 Montreal Protocol. He served as Director of NASA's Stratospheric Ozone Program and advised U.S. President Bill Clinton on environmental science.
