Robert M. Edsel is a writer, co-producer, founder, and chairman of the Monuments Men Foundation for the Preservation of Art. He has authored the non-fiction books Rescuing Da Vinci, The Monuments Men: Allied Heroes, Nazi Thieves and the Greatest Treasure Hunt in History, and Saving Italy.
The latter book, released in the Spring of 2013, follows the struggle of two Monuments Men to protect and save some of Italy's greatest treasures, including works by Leonardo Da Vinci and Michelangelo. Edsel is also the co-producer of the documentary film The Rape of Europa and has created the educational program The Greatest Theft in History.
