Robert Dugoni Biography

Growing up as the middle child of a family of ten siblings, Robert Dugoni was raised in Northern California after being born in Idaho. He found solace in writing at a young age, and by seventh grade, he knew he wanted to pursue it as a career. Dugoni attended Stanford University and majored in communications/journalism and creative writing while working as a reporter for the Stanford Daily, where he received writing awards. After graduating Phi Beta Kappa, he briefly worked as a reporter for the Los Angeles Times. Dugoni attended UCLA law school and practiced law for 13 years in San Francisco. However, his passion for writing never faded, and in 1999, he made the life-changing decision to quit law and focus on writing novels. He fulfilled a promise to his wife on the 4th anniversary of their wedding by driving a U-Haul trailer across the Oregon-Washington border and settling in Seattle to pursue his dreams.
