Crandall is “the man who changed the way the world flies.” He is the former chairman and chief executive officer of AMR Corporation and American Airlines. Crandall was key in initiating many changes, which transformedthe travel industry during his 25 year term.
At the moment, Crandall is a director at GoGo Inc. and a privately held company called Hipmunk. Crandall funded a project to modernize America’s SABRE computer reservations system in 1973, which laid the foundation for what eventually became The SABRE Group, now a leading provider of communication and computing services for airlines throughout the world.
