Robert Buckley graduated with a degree in economics from the University of California, San Diego. After a year of work as an economic consultant, he returned to Los Angeles to pursue an acting career.
In 2006, Buckley made his acting debut as Michael Bauer in the television series "Fashion House" and later appeared as a series regular in "American Heiress." He then secured the recurring role of Kirby Atwood, an aspiring photographer infatuated with Kim Raver's character, in the television series "Lipstick Jungle" in 2008, appearing in 20 episodes.
