Rob Lloyd Biography

After 21 years at Cisco Systems, Rob Lloyd joined Hyperloop One as Chief Executive Officer and Member of the Board in September 2015. Prior to joining Hyperloop Tech, he was the President of Development, Sales, and the Internet of Everything, overseeing 40,000 workers worldwide. Lloyd oversaw several Cisco innovation initiatives, including the company's Intercloud strategy, data center, and server strategy, and architectural sales and go-to-market programs. In the government, enterprise, and telecommunications industries, he was closely involved in many of the company's major client and partner partnerships. Lloyd spent four years as president of Europe, the Middle East, Africa, and Russia, and has worked and lived all around the world. Lloyd was an entrepreneur in the personal computer and networking sector before joining Cisco Canada as GM in 1994. He founded and grew a firm that became one of Canada's leading value-added computer resellers. Lloyd has 18 years of global leadership experience at Cisco and has overseen the bulk of the company's global operations. Prior to his present post, he was Executive Vice President, Worldwide Operations, and Senior Vice President, United States, Canada, and Japan, where he was in charge of two of Cisco's five major 'theatres.' Lloyd previously spent more than four years as President of Cisco's Europe, Middle East, and Africa (EMEA) area. He now serves on the Board of the Brazil-US Business Council and is Cisco's nation executive sponsor for Brazil. Lloyd, his wife, and their four boys presently reside in California.
